2-1-1's Customer Service Representatives are responsible for providing accurate information and referral assistance, follow-up assistance, and advocacy over the phone and computer to help our customers access the services they need to build and sustain healthy lives.

We are looking for Customer Service Representatives that can help 2-1-1 San Diego deliver a WOW customer service experience to our callers, and have the skills to deliver outstanding and empathetic service.


  • Provide phone-based high-quality confidential information, referral and advocacy for health, social service and disaster information.
  • Provide extra assistance to customers in crisis and advocacy to those in need of additional help facilitating service delivery.
  • Document unmet needs to assist in the identification of gaps in services that can be addressed through 2-1-1 data reporting.
  • Accurately document all customer interactions using web-based computer software systems.
  • Utilize recognized professional & agency standards at all times. Maintain professionalism in working with sensitive client information.
  • Assist with other programs and duties as assigned.


  • Extensive experience providing excellent customer service is required.
  • Associate's Degree or higher required; combination of education beyond high school & equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Experience in the fields of public health, social work, human development, psychology, sociology/criminology or social sciences are highly desirable.
  • 1-2 years of call center experience highly desirable.
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish) are highly desirable.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends is highly desirable.
  • High level of proficiency with web-based systems, chat systems, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; skills test may be required.
