What is a Navigation Supervisor?

Under the direction of the Navigation Services Program Manager, the Navigation Supervisor is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and coordinating the Health Navigation and Housing Specialist staff members.  The Navigation Supervisor works collaboratively with their team to provide high quality, person-centric service to the communities of San Diego and Imperial Counties. The Navigation Supervisor understands and models the empathy, advocacy, cultural competency and follow-up service required to help clients access the services needed to build and sustain healthy lives.


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
  • At least 2 years' experience supervising and coaching a team to success.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness with a consistent positive attitude and desire to see the agency succeed is required.
  • The desire to seek learning opportunities to promote growth, professional and personal development.
  • Experience or education in the fields of social sciences and humanities such as public health, social work, human development, psychology, and/or sociology is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the principles of program planning and staffing.
  • Experience adapting quickly to changes and being able to influence others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • High level of proficiency in web-based systems, real-time communication systems (i.e.: chat) Microsoft Office, and other Client Record Management systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
